ADAM RICHARDSON

Preaching Minister

Adam has served as the Preaching Minister and Bible class teacher since 2013. He also serves as an officer with the Underwood-Petersville Volunteer Fire Department and as Director of “Junior Week” at Palmetto Bible Camp in South Carolina.

Adam married Autumn in 1997, and they have three children: Kaitlyn, Logan, and Macey. Since coming to Petersville, he feels that his family has been welcomed and very much blessed. He loves what Petersville does for the community. Adam enjoys hiking, kayaking, camping, going to the movies, golf, and disc golf.

He enjoys studying the Bible alone and with small groups, and he would love to study with you!

His favorite verses are Philippians 3:12-14; “Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me His own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

Lucan Marks

Youth Minister

Lucas Marks, a dedicated individual with a passion for teaching and youth ministry, assumed the role of youth minister at the Petersville Church of Christ in November 2023. Lucas, happily married to Amanda, is the proud father of their daughter, Emmalynn. Amanda grew up at Petersville and brings a rich history and familial connection to the congregation, and a strong dedication to the youth at Petersville.

Lucas’s academic journey led him to Freed-Hardeman University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 2011 and later obtained a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction in 2014. Currently enrolled in the Teacher Leader Ed.S. program at the University of North Alabama, Lucas continues to pursue growth in teaching young people.

In addition to his studies, Lucas serves as a high school science teacher at Central High School in Florence. His commitment to education extends beyond the classroom, as he and Amanda share a deep passion for teaching youth. Lucas actively engages with the 7-12 youth group at Petersville, fostering an environment where young minds can grow in faith and understanding.

Lucas describes Petersville as a vibrant and active congregation with outstanding leadership, emphasizing their dedication to spreading the gospel in the Florence area. His enthusiasm for the church’s mission aligns seamlessly with the community’s values.

One guiding principle for Lucas is drawn from Colossians 3, where the Bible teaches that everything one does should be for the Lord. Lucas strives to live out this principle in his personal and professional life, finding purpose and fulfillment in aligning his actions with his faith.

Lucas extends an invitation for anyone in need to reach out. Whether it’s to set up a Bible study, discuss youth events, or simply chat, Lucas welcomes calls or texts at 256-366-0379. He values the opportunity to connect with others and is always ready to support and uplift those in the Petersville Church of Christ community.
